Bill Brown: National Champion
Bill Brown and his United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) team from West Chester, Pa., has captured the USASA Open Cup National Championship by defeating the men’s team… RWBA Adria (Region 2) from Chicago by a score of 2-1 in Virginia Beach, Va. , on Sunday, July 18.
The team advanced to the championship round by knocking off Chula Vista (Region 4) from California 4-1 on July 17.
Brown and his men’s team- Predators- from West Chester United Soccer Club (WCUSC) (Region 1) had to win the state title and regional title before advancing to the national championship. Since the team’s inception in 2008 they have won many state titles, but the championship this weekend marks the club’s first national title.
Prior to playing for the Predator, Brown played for Avernia College from 2000-2003 and is highlighted throughout the program’s record book. He is ranked second in goals scored, 30, third for assists, 18, and third for points, 78. During his final season with the Crusaders he scored 13 goals and tallied 31 points.
Brown played for the Delaware Dynasty Team in the Premier Development League for two seasons before joining WCUSC.
There is no rest for the weary; Brown and the Predator will have a few weeks to bask in their glory before starting the process over again as they look to win the 2016 National Championship.
